| Cat Power – Sea of Love (Phil Phillips cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I wish this song made me happy: But it doesnt. Theres just too many negative connotations with love. For me anywway. When you are in love with someone who will never love you back... I guess every love song is sad. |

| Kate Nash – Don't You Want to Share the Guilt? Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I completely love this song , it is so personalised to her own interpretation of her own life that everything is a little hazy to us : but i bet she knows exactly what shes talking about even though sometimes it might sound like shes just having a bit of a rant. At first i thought the person at the start was supposed to be real , like her friend or something (for some reason it never felt like a romantic relationship to me , and in my mind i always imagined a female.)I thought that maybe her friend had been away and changed a lot , and Kate knew that it was going to happen before the girl left thats why she was reluctant to go round the girls house. And then she finds out that her friend is not happy with her life and has maybe resorted to selfharm (which again kate seems to have been expecting) But then i changed my interpretation and thought that the other person ay just be a metaphor for herself and the cut wasnt actually physical, just mental but she fixed it. Anyone else agree? |

Yes i agree with Skyth on the "so you can feel whole" part. Buy i always thought it was "save up you efforts" , because that has more relevance to the next line "this is only a goal" Love this song and although it can be depressing if you are in the wrong mood it is still probably my favourite song by her. |

I agree with thecoldpart on this one. she just wants someone to help her stop all of these horrible things that are going on and protect her from herself becasue she cant do it alone. It also seems like she is having a constant struggle inside herself Maybe because of her sexuality. Kinda reminds me of me a while back. |

| Tegan and Sara – Dancing in the Dark (Bruce Springsteen cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song is most definately how im feeling at the moment. its basically saying that i do everything by the book so that the future is something to look forward to becasue youl know everything and just be able to enjoy the life, but your life at the moment sucks becasue its all work and no play. Also your independance gets the better of you , until people arnt quite sure wether you want help , or to just be left alone. The lyrics "dancing in the dark" may be a euphamism , but it still means a lot to me because sometimes i stay up all night just listening to music ( a lot of tegan and sara) and dancing in the dark depths of my bedroom : its fun because noone can see you. |

I think this song is definately about independance and individuality. Shes basically saying "you can look but dont touch. watch me to see if im ok but dont interfere" I love how simple this song is to play on guitar and sing , but it still seems to be a really interesting song too. I also like how simple but meaningful the lyrics are , and the way she talks about the movies reminds me of a gorgeously oldfashioned tiny cinema near where i live. This song is also about the future and how people have plans for the future but might not be able to carry them out. |
