| 50 Cent – Candy Shop Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm not sure what every one else is getting out of this song and I may be wrong...But, I'm pretty sure the "lolipop" referred to in the song is a metaphor for his penis. ...? | |
| Radiohead – These Are My Twisted Words Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I feel as though Thom Yorke is experiencing yet another one of his writer's blocks, and releasing this song just proves it. As he did before the Kid A album, the song has little structure and the song seems to have simple lyrical depth. He's stating it simply. He's tired and worn out of constantly looking for meaning. I'm a little concerned to see where this album ends up. | |

| Kid Cudi – The Prayer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is funny because my friends dig Cudi's music but hate on him for having the most ridiculous and meaningless lyrics. After checking out this song I see that he's trying to show some lyrical depth which impressed me for such a young and inexperienced artist. This dog has mad potential and this is the kind of shit that is going to make him successful. I regards to what the song means is basically about him trying to put out real music and stray away from mainstream. I believe the emphasis on putting real meaning into his music symbolizes putting more depth into his life. |

| Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song touches on the majority of lower class that filled the army during the Vietnam war. Those who were not in school or couldn't buy there way out of getting drafted ended up on the front lines. Many of those men felt they were fighting for a lost cause. |

| The Shins – Young Pilgrims Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel like its appealing to those who find themselves in-between a well structured life and and the deep struggle to find yourself. This often occurs in lives of the youth or "Young Pilgrims". I find myself constantly falling in and out of the structured life set before me (school, family, religion) and deep feelings that seem to pull me away from this path and force me to question of I truly belong on that road. I feel that as I walk down the halls I am not the only one. The faces see on the streets rarely convey the ture identity of the soul. Often I wish the structure and design (that doesn't even exist) could just be forgotten. I feel this would lead to a more open real word. Maybe someday. |

| Radiohead – My Iron Lung Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Iron Lung is an extended metaphor for a 20th century sell out song. The lung gives the band some breathing room and keeps their popularity up to par. The lung however is Iron; cold and shallow. It's not real. Not real Radiohead. Thom was suffering from writers block and he understood that the band needed a hit song. Frankly he hates the track he says so in the lyrics. But it ended up the song was a huge hit and people listening to it on top 40 didn't even realize that the lyrics are just him trashing his own song. Priceless. |
