i seriously thought this song was about an abusive relationship. i thought he hit her, like put her up against the wall and 'slap like a wake up call' and she just tries to brush it off, 'the bruises on the face don't bother at all' i think it's just this girl who's being abused, but she still loves the guy. but that's just me. |

haha, this is my best guy friend's song. he so nonchalant about everything and acts like nothing mattered much. he knows i hate it. but i guess he actually listens. that whole story can pretty much be summarized in these two lines: "it doesn't mean that I don't care it means I'm partially there" odd, when you think about it. |

i think it's this guy who was somewhat of a player "all my conquests i construe fail miserably in front of you" then he meets this woman who fits him perfectly. but he ended the relationship "and i fled with my superstition" scared that he might actually have real feelings, which he could not reveal. "A man's emotions are what make him weak" without her, he feels lost and doesn't know what to do. but now he misses her, but can't get her, eventually deciding to leave. |

Oh, amazing song. I like the whole figurative thing that they have going on. This is a great song for when you're feeling down in the dumps and you aren't up to doing anything but lay in bed and listen to this song. "And I try not to worry, but you've got me terrified It's like you're in some kind of hurry To say goodbye, say goodbye, say goodbye" My favorite line, reminds me of this guy. There is so much emotion in that one line. |
