Everyone has a vision of what a perfect world would be like. This is John Lennon's. It's his opinion. He had a right to it, just like all the people auguring here have a right to theirs. But honestly, what are you accomplishing by coming here & yelling at people who actually LIKE this song? Nothing. If you don't like the song, that is fine. Great. You do that. But you aren't going to change anyone's opinion by coming here and insulting them. It's very childish. And honestly, I'm not on a playground anymore. I LIKE this beautiful song. A nice, calming, peaceful song is a nice way to take a moment away from all the news about the war. |

I think, like with many great songs, this one can be seen many different ways. I see this song as being in love with a troubled friend and finally realzing that even when he/she DOES move past all the bad stuff in their lives, and finds themself, they will never return the feelings you have. |

| My personal opinion on this song is that basically she never really got over him. And even though she moved on...through the years random people would mention him or even just his name in conversation, she'd still flinch & think of him because her heart is still not healed. She's asking him & herself in the song how long she is going to have to be tortured by him before she finally gets over it. | |
