if you watch the video, it hints a lot at teenager/parent relationships. maybe i'm wrong but i'm thinking it's about a parent who wants to connect with their teenager who can only seem to view them as the enemy. |

I agree completely with Romeo Scotland except about the chorus. I actually just saw them in concert and he said that the reason the chorus is just mmm's is because he actually couldn't decide on any lyrics. He put in the mmm's expecting to replace them later with words but the record label liked it better so they did without the words. |

I definitely think this song is about depression or something to that effect. "I can see but I've lost my sight" meaning physically, he can see but he doesn't see the world the way he used to, when he was happy. The first verse really gave it away for me.
Give me an answer

(The night is terrifying because he's alone with his thoughts)

As for the last lines, "And maybe I'm crazy But lightning might strike me tonight" he's thinking that he very well may be mentally ill but he still has hope that things could turn around. The lightning could symbolize something that wakes him up and shakes him of his depression.

I think in this song, he loves he greatly and she loves him but she just hasn't realized it yet. He knows she loves him but he can't get her to see it. |
