When I first heard this song, I was totally floored by Amy's voice and the beat/rhythm (don't care so much about the lyrics...except for "I cheated myself like I knew I would"). The first time in years that a song made me stop in my tracks. The drum/bass line is exceptional. Check out the remix with Ghostface Killah. He just explodes the rhymes. |

Following on discombobulated, I have always associated this song with the version by the Boo Radleys in the Mike Meyers movie "I married an axe murderer", in which it was used as a "love" song... now that's all been spoiled by comments re: drugs (ha-ha). The lyrics do make more sense, though, if heroin is the subject... |
