I find this song kind of...confusing. However it is not because I don't understand what the song is trying to say, I just can't figure out whether the writer is being smart and ironic or they're just a hypocrite.
I mean it is a guy who got ignored by a cab driver and because of this he states that it was because the cab driver was prejudice and just hates him because of how he looks. However if he got ignored by the driver, that means he had never even talked to the driver, in fact he knows just as much about the cab driver as the cab driver knows about him. He doesn't know why the cab driver didn't pick him up, he just assumes that it is because the cab driver is racist. But he does not know this, for all he knows the cab driver didn't pick him up because him wife was in an accident and he's rushing to the hospital. He doesn't know anything, thus he is also prejudging the cab driver as well, in assuming that he is just a horrible person because he didn't pick him up.
So this song confuses me because I can't tell whether it's showing people how stupid being prejudice is (by assuming outrageous things about a cab driver who he does not know) or it is just an angry guy assuming another man is prejudice without actually realising that that's exactly the same thing that he himself is doing. |

Well, Pound's aim in writing was to get down to the "bare bones". He did not want to have long, needless descriptions or wishy-washy language. So probably Regina is playing on the fact that she believes that the "bare bones" or his writing needs to be covered up. I really don't think she was a fan. Either that or she just wished to play on his aim of getting down to the "bare bones" and Ezra's last name. Either way, it is incredibly clever. |

i was thinking its a metaphor for two parts of her that prevents her from having proper relationships with other. the jackal being pridful and the donkey being emotional, simply because they are a apart of her she holds on to them and they grow more on her insecurity...or something like that |

i always thought this song was about someone desperate for attention "All I wanted was your attention" and they get themselves in bad situations so someone will see them "You hold yourself for a randsom now there is no way out"...well...at least i think.... |

umm...i personally love their new album more, its much more happy, its what they said they wanted to do, so i think its a good thing...
i thought maybe they're talking about life as a dream...you know the first lines...and the "moon don't come down"...and the "clicked your heals..."-wizard of oz is a dream... well i just that's just my take anyway... |
