Feeder – Just The Way I'm Feeling Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is largely influenced by the feelings of the band at the time, whether directly based around the suicide or not.

To me this song means as it says in the title, 'Just the Way I'm Feeling.' An inexplicable emotional rollercoaster that can't be defined in any words other than, this is the way I feel, it'll pass eventually but right now this is how I am feeling. Just because I am... Overall it reflects depression, whether in a relationship situation or not.

Either way one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard next to Iris (GGD) and possibly the greatest music video ever made - original mix animation in a very old style that's not seen nowadays, classic every time.

Paramore – When It Rains Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree a lot with that.
I thought this song was about some form of suicide in the beginning.
And their affiliation with TWLOHA would make a lot of sense when matched with this meaning.
So I agree entirely :).

I did the same to a guy, don't worry.

I think everyone makes the mistake eventually.

Paramore – That's What You Get Lyrics 16 years ago
I like this theory, actually.
I never really have looked very far into the lyrics of Paramore songs, and this song is no exception. I like this song for the fact that it is dealing with such an emotional topic to most teenagers (their prime audience) but do it in such an upbeat way, as per paramore's usual style. I always assumed the line 'That's what you get when you let your heart win' was about completely losing connection with a past love; you let your heart get the better of you and now you are hurting, and there is no one to blame but yourself.

But the idea that the two are still trying to reconnect; reignite something that was previously there. I'd say that works.

Thanks for shedding light on a meaning I was unsure of before, makes this song all the more beautiful :).

Train – Drops of Jupiter Lyrics 16 years ago
A good interpretation, I'd say.
I understand fully about the personal growth as that is my thought on this song, too.

Perhaps the term 'Drops of jupiter' could also refer to how long she has been away; wherever it is she has actually been.

I'd also say that the references to space and stuff leaves open for religious interpretations - heaven's existence is questioned, as with an afterlife theory he is stating more that she has gone to space rather than to heaven - fitting with the original statements that the song was originally about his Mom's death.

I love that this song can be interpreted in so many different ways, it really shows the creativity and flair that has been contained by the artists and represented in an approx 4 min song.

Train – Drops of Jupiter Lyrics 16 years ago
I love that this song has the most comments on Train's list of songs. It truly emphasises the greatness of this piece of beautiful music - both instrumentally and lyrically.

The intended meaning of this song has been stated in an interview that it is about the lead singers Mom shortly after she died. It came to him in a dream, essentially. But I'd guess that many people already know this, so I won't go into details.

However there are so many interpretations to this song.

Mine is that of finding yourself after you've lost who you thought you were.

I absolutely adore this song, it really is JUST beautiful.

The Fray – Ungodly Hour Lyrics 16 years ago
As with 'Happiness' I hadn't listened to this song much from this album when I first got it.

However, after listening through the album a few more times I've found that I do actually like this song a lot more than I did when I first heard it.

It's very different for the Fray; a lot more sombre than most of their other music.

I agree that it can be interpretted as a boy and girl in the midst of a painful break up in which neither are admitting their faults.

However, this song also reminds me a lot of the current 90210 series; especially of the storyline of Adrianna and her pregnancy.

Where it says 'her bag is now much heavier' it reminds me of the burden that is now on that character.

This isn't just applicable to the programme, but also to real life, and to anyone who finds themself in that same situation.

This is similar to Skins S2 in which Jal becomes pregnant, and the advisor tells her that she has a lot to carry, and is weighed down.

The overall song itself other than this line could be speaking of the narrator's feelings about what has happened, and the inability he has to cope - like Navid with Adrianna in 90210.

Just a suggested and more unlikely meaning to this song, however that is what it reminds me of.

It's a beautiful song and really slow; befitting of the album overall.

The Fray – Happiness Lyrics 16 years ago
I've just read the lyrics to this song, but haven't really listened to it as much as the rest.

I regret that I did not read the lyrics sooner, as it sounds just like a poem put to music, and it is very true. It really emphasises the emotional struggle that Isaac was going through as they were making the album, and although quite a dark song it is very clear in its meaning and portrayed message; and gives light to the true meaning of happiness and what its disabling factors actually are in the modern world.

The Fray – Say When Lyrics 16 years ago
'Say When' is a very different song indeed for the Fray, and I agree with jdaniels that it bares a large similarity to We Build Then We Break in that it has a much more low-key lead music type. It is a lot darker and is lead with a guitar sound more than the piano, which is different from The Frays usual piano-lead music.

My favourite line in this song is Maybe God Can be on Both Sides... although there has been a lot of debate as to what the final word is. Personally, I think it's gun, and I quote it as that still without being sure.

Regardless, that line is extremely powerful as it does question the ethics of God and fate; stating that it unfortunately can go either way as a decision.

I do love this song a lot, but currently I like We Build Then We Break the most.

The Fray – All At Once Lyrics 16 years ago
I'd say this is scarily similar to a situation that has just happened to me...

Possible paranoia in a relationship, but also the loss of a certain part of your personality.

Depends on how you view it. Looking over the lyrics now I find, with the proper mention of a female person and possible male narrator, that it is more than likely based around a breaking relationship between one person and another (the narrator indicates only another person and not themselves speaking in the song - almost as a conscience speaking to someone who may be losing another person in their life or a part of their personality through self doubt).

In a previous relationship I found myself quite paranoid that the inevitable would happen and I would lose this person. Unfortunately, that did happen; 'lost to another'.

I think it is a case of cherish what you have while you have it, and don't dream further than the things that you already have.

The main saying also of, 'all at once the crowd begins to sing' can indicate the idea that love IS blind, and that it is obvious to people around the appointed protagonist of the song itself, however they cannot see it themselves despite the clear answer that may lie before them.

The Fray – Vienna Lyrics 16 years ago
This song confused me at first, and I'm still not fully sure what to make of it.

As most people have mentioned throughout the comments for Vienna, I can see that this song is based more about relationships, due to the relative connection between Vienna and it's romantic stereotype (gondolas at sunset etc).

Essentially I see a relationship that is on the last lingering thread of breaking; however neither side has any real willing intent for it not to continue onwards.

'Last one way ticket train pulls in' says to me that they have spent the last minutes together but it is still inevitable that one is to leave. 'We smile for the casual closure capturing' could represent a last image of them smiling together, a memory that is made only for closure for both of them to remember once the time has passed.

However the following repetitive lines then don't mix as well with my theory behind the first verse. Although, the use of 'there's no way to reach me' three times over is an emphasis on the isolation that the narrator has put themself in - possibly as a result of confused heartbreak.

The following verse then carries on the talk of why the relationship ended; 'only so many words that we could say.'

The repetition carries on after this - emphasising the points more.

The narrator then returns to hope about getting back together, although it is obvious that this is a very bleak comment, and that the narrator has very little belief that this will actually happen.

I have yet to understand two of the remaining lines. That of 'this is my gameface' and especially 'this is your maverick'.

Possibly, this is your maverick, is to show that it was the other persons idea in the first place.

This is very similar to a situation I have faced in the past, and I have not found any other situation that this could be placed in other than coping with the death of a loved one... In which the train is the path to death, and the bleak possibilities of returning to the casual closure capture of the final moment is within an afterlife, depending on the beliefs. In my eyes these are the only two clear ways to interpret this song; however everyone is free to their definitions, of course.

It is a free world after all.
