The song is about changing personality through atonement. "I am waiting til you return your suffering " - persona is waiting for the punishment. "When you come back, I won't know you " - signifies that after change is complete it's hard to make all the other parts of your personality to reform according to the change. "And my heart has turned to stone I crawled back in, I am hungry I made my traps are set in space" Changing is hard and sometimes on the way you return to your old fears and needs or new ones arise. |

"Cycles" may mean cycle of life repeating itself. "Fixed sight" means realization of this concept and also realization that sacrifices need to be done (in order to escape this cycle?). But he(lyrics hero) always takes the bait, not making the sacrifices and obeys sinful human nature. "Thinking I can summon some ancient truth before wrong" - the hero cannot find the truth of human nature. The last four lines emphasize this cycle of life and death and described persona cannot escape it. Hence the name of the song - Lost. |

A Sun that never sets symbolizes the stream of knowledge that never ends. Idefinite article also underlines symbolic meaning. Rivers dawn is the beginning of all knowledge you possess. Going through life we experiance many new things which bring new understanding to what we alerady know. "Rebuild the loves of lives long gone" - I am sensing something about karma here. Because we are never free from our mistakes in the past until we fix them. Blood symbolizes inherited emotions from previous generations. But it is also our strength because we are not alone that carry that emotions in us. |
