Once upon a time NOFX felt moved enough to want to make a positive impact and a real difference, and were obnoxious about it. When that didn't work out they got pretty bitter, and were obnoxious about it. Now they're writing about Religion, and are obnoxious about it. Propagandhi are fucking obnoxious in general (see: their fucking NAME), I guess that's just the punk way. I do have to admit, they deserve a tip of the hat from those who want to make a change. Honestly I've had lots of eyerolls to lend NOFX since they starting being so bitter about their less-than-triumphs, but this song I feel is an exception, this song is especially powerful. This discussion is pretty unproductive over a song trying to be productive... ... Shit i just threw my penny into that wishing well, fuck... Oops. NOFX are far too sincere of dickheads to not miss a few key points and to not keep writing about getting drunk and partying while they try to be intelligent and send a real message. |
