I know that I probably sound like the typical Nirvana freak who assumes that all Foo Fighters songs are dedicated to Kurt, but I'm not. However, when I hear this song the first thing that comes to mind is Kurt. There's a good chance it's not, but many of the lyrics could very well be references to him. For example: the first verse could be a reference to Kurt being a great guy but falling into drugs, the let it die part obviously being about Kurt's suicide, "in too deep and out of time" is saying that he couldn't be saved from his addictions because he was such an addict and there was no time to help him (thus why he ran away from rehab in L.A. just before he died). other than that I really don't know besides the "did you ever think of me, you're so considerate" being a sarcastic line about being selfish and inconsiderate by committing suicide. I dunno, I'm bored with time to kill, and that's my thoughts on the song. |

I'm not implying that this song is about Kurt or not, but the line "Don't the best of them bleed it out, while the rest of them peter out" could be referencing how many great people that could be viewed as heroes, such as Cobain, or someone like Layne Staley or Jimi Hendrix seem to die young and early while others just seem to fade away. |

i think this song is about goin crazy, cause he's hearing voices in his head and tellin' himself he's not gonna crack. not to mention some of the lyrics are contradictory:

I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet you there, and i dont care |
