It's about Brave New World =]. "You hold me close, naked, I don't feel a thing Your zipper's all but cherry, but I don't feel anything Your mind is stranded down I'm closing you in my arms And not grow overweight and plastic anyday" The first verse I think is from John's perspective when Lenina tries to have sex with him, but then it seems to go to Lenina's when it says "and not grow overweight and plastic anyday?" All of the hug me till you drug me honey parts are also from this part in BNW when Lenina tries to get with John and she's saying this to him (Isn't she on soma at this point too?..They're always on soma, but I think she took extra to have more confidence?). I think it's also a song in the World State. "Your eyes are dusty dirt porn magazines You're lazy, selfish, yeah you were raised that way It's a hole that he was bred I'll take your pants, you take my hair And let us dance and choose the happy and depressed" John's point of view of course. "Lazy, selfish, yeah you were raised that way" could be anybody in the World State, but my guess says Lenina because of "your eyes are dusty dirt porn magazines." The last line totally confirms its John because he claims everything good and bad unlike most of the characters who would rather just have the good and live in this "utopia" "Wait, wait I swear I've seen that face somewhere It's very face I fell for in the human race I can't lie, I was brainwashed to be honest In this brave new world that slowly passes by" I can't say too much about this I'm still trying to figure it out for myself, but to me it seems like Lenina. The last line however is John. "I'm just a girl learning to act as planned I was programmed to be Catholic, but I ran I changed my race, I changed my name I prayed to them, please, what is brave? I am loyal because I was simply raised that way" The first line sounds like Lenina, but the next one sounds like John because only he knows about things such as religion. What's puzzling to me though is that is says programmed. John wasn't programmed, he wasn't brought up in the World State so idk. The fourth and fifth line are from John because he prays and seems like this sort of humble person. He is faithful because he was brought up as such. "By the way, I never liked your hands on me Never liked your ideas of what is beautiful Or really truly holy I must say you've thrown, your apathy away Go back into your diapers Will you die first? Before you admit the truth" Obviously Lenina towards Bernard. She tells Fanny she likes his hands(lying?)and she hates Bernards way of thinking. He's this sort of outcast and thinks of things differently than everyone in the World State. The sixth and seventh line is a connection to John's suicide at the end? |
