nope. for one this was written before don't go down (i think. i know the studio release of don't go down came out years after this but i know he played it live way before he released it) and two, thats just ridiculous. Quasi was it's own entity. Not every song was about Elliott. Sam obviously has a very depressed bleak point of view in his lyrics in many of his songs. Elliott didn't invent depression
