I think this song could be interpreted as doing anything for the first time and how scared you feel about it. So yes, it could be interpreted to mean a salvation experience. It could even be interpreted to mean a new relationship, the birth of a child, or any kind of a life change for that matter. As for me, after a rough couple of years in the education industry, I have come to the realization that there is a distinct possibility that I am being called to be a pastor...and yes, believe it or not, I can relate this song to that! There's just something about making a life change that seems to be present in this song, be it studying to be a pastor or a new relationship or whatever. You notice that this song is sung in an upbeat fashion so it's a scary (but exciting!) change in someone's life. |
