Without looking at the lyrics, i always thought this song was either about a loved one, or about the writer's envy of people who were born into higher social status than him. Taking a look at the lyrics i think it's an expression of love. Maybe toward a person or his home country. Great song, beautiful really. |

Great song, i adore these lyrics. I think it's about never really being comfortable in your own shoes, and making fresh start after fresh start but never really finding consistency in life. It's also one of two times I have noticed Jim James write a line about mirrors, i think he is sort of fascinated with the way a reflection can make or break a person's confidence. (The other line about mirrors is in Librarian) |
