It's definitely a jab at religion. In the first verse/chorus, the narrator is looking for something to change his pessimism and give his life meaning. Then, he finds religion, which he's "not sure" about, but feels right to him, even if it is dull. The thing that makes it clear to me that this is saying that religion isn't fulfilling is the change from "I need much more good & much less bad" to "I need so much more good, lord & much less bad." It shows that he's having all the same problems he was having before he found religion. And also, katscradle, to say that Cat's Cradle is a "satire of religion" is a gross oversimplification of Vonnegut's masterpiece. |

"X would have to pimp my ride thats something I cant plan" A reference to Pimp My Ride, the host of which is rapper Xzibit. |
