Christina Aguilera – Dirrty (feat. Redman) Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm a guy and I love this song. I know girls that have become prostitutes (no lie)
because they were influence by the deep and real interpretations of the amazing Christina.
I really have an issue with the video though. I feel like she wasn't able to express what
she was truely trying to because of "censored material". If skinnamax played music videos
then she probably would have been able to express her true artistic message.

Anywho...I think that the meaning of this song is deep. deeper than you do.
I think she refferences biblical text by a clever satire of Mary Magdalene.

"Get up, get it up
Yup, that's what's up
You can just put your butt
To the maximum
Uh oh, here we go "

That's my favorite...Christina YOU RULE yourself!!!! :D

The Smashing Pumpkins – Disarm Lyrics 16 years ago
another song from the perspective of a child, I like the "disarm you with a smile"
concept. A powerful song inflicting emotion on everyone. If you vent emotion with truth, just
purpose, and a high quality, artistic, unique take on something that almost everyone can relate to,
you do have something. Who here putting or reading comments on this song didn't
have some sort of negativity attached to their childhood?

The Smashing Pumpkins – Today Lyrics 16 years ago
I read through most of these comments and I find no one I can relate to about this song.
To myself, this song is good at evoking emotion. I think that the simplistic language and
the idea that is grasp on to and repeated is very easily driven into all parts of a persons
memory. For you it may be sad or happy or both. For me he is speaking as a child.

I know what he said in a interview and I know he was sad. This song makes me think of a
reggression into a child like state of awareness and new perspective on the "day" itself.
It's a great song. I think it's funny that there's always someone trying to say all these songs
are love songs. It's not... The perspective it reflects seems to be that of a kid.
Simple language can do more than random words that are unusual in basic conversation.
Which is a concept that most poets don't grasp. Beautiful words and a combination of
the right ones can be good on paper. But in music, it is hard to beat simple words with
larger, more unused words, when relating to people. You don't have to be on the verge of
killing yourself for this song to make sense to you.

I believe he is putting himself in the position of satan. Not sure if anyone else said this but....Rat in a cage.
would be reffering to satan in hell. His refference to "Old Job" would conclude that he is familiar with him in
a more personal way than someone who read the book.. such as satan was..his jealousy of jesus is the main
factor..."jesus was the only son for you"...sounds like satan... "I still cannot be saved"...probably obvious
in the beggining verses he is mocking humanity by pointing out the self destructing behavior.. The rage from
the cage is a feeling of being trapped...satan does have dominion over the earth but is infact trapped in a
cage...just as a rat in a cage..except way more angry
