@[creedude:40543] haha I know it\'s been quite a minute, but "the cow" is the "tapeworm abortion" which was apparently raped in the previous line? lol.\r\n\r\nNow just what the hell is a tapeworm abortion and how was it raped?\r\n\r\nThe song sounds to me like just embracing addiction and fall from god\'s grace, somehow this part seems like relapsing after trying to get clean (tapeworm being addiction, was being aborted but that got raped by???) - probably way the hell off. I think these lyrics are sometimes written just to create the mystique and peek the interest. |

Well, my understanding is the entire album is a tribute to Andrew Wood who was the lead singer of mother love bone and one of the Seattle bands that got the grunge scene on the map. A couple of the members of that band went on to form pearl jam with Eddy Vedder. Wood died from heroin overdose. I don't know for fact but I've always thought this song was about him putting his addiction before his girlfriend. "I call you beautiful, if I call at all". Anyone who knows a heroin addict can relate. |

This song, like many other DBT songs sounds so good it gives me the chills sometimes. Great story...I can definitely relate. "you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life" means once she crosses that line, there's no going back. She'll probably be just like her sister. This is one of those songs that gets better every time you hear it. |

I think I can answer that. Because they don't play to "the crowd"..they play REAL music which the masses aren't interested in. I don't even listen to the radio anymore because everything sucks so bad in this American Idol world of music we're living in. This is one of the best bands that I've personally ever seen or heard and I hope they never sell out..just keep making great tunes and albums. |
