a quarter past three is realy confusing me. other than that the whole story just reminds me of wuthering heights and how catherine haunts heathcliff, in theat uncanny house. a quarter past three is 3 15. on an anolog clock the arms are both overlapping, as if frozen.
what is also interesting about three ififteen, is that in military time, its 15:15

i think salsashark exactly right, causee i mean casue both xans and muslims have used god as a reason to kill, its undeniable, i mean look at the crusades for xans and 9/11 for muslims. their not the same god obviously, casue there is only one god. but id assume that their leaning towards the fact that hes talking to the muslims becasue the band is not an atheistic, satanic, or muslim band. in the THANK YOUs section of the bands first CD, 'Behind Silence and solitude", Phill labonte himself, fist thing he thanked was "my God and His Son [Jesus Christ] , my father for demonstrating what a real man is" obviously he is a bleiver and knew how he got to where he is. also Chris thanked God aswell first and foremost.
therefore the band is, for the most part, a Christian band, or atleast believe in God and Jesus Christ. When they say a god of violence, Phil is refering to ppl who use either allah or God, the wrong way, violently and unholyly |

nevermind, its an old chinese saying meaning that itoutwardly scary but not able to withstand testing. whats interesting tho is the idea that not only is it weaker than it looks, but if put throo a test, such as the wind or rain, it would be destroyed. its strictly there for intimidation |

well the song is kinda just a culmination of the whole albums theme, still searching. he had found christianity but he thinks its wrong and hes "still searching" for something to fulfill his life with. in this song he commits suicide and its his last few moments on earth. i love the title too, the preist and the matador. the priest is one who is religious and recognized as a Xan figure. a matador is a bull fighter. what do bullfighters do? they flirt with death. essentially, the song is the Xan and the evil kineeval w seemingly nothing to live for |
