I think the song's about depression, self harming and suicidal thoughts. "I'm just gonna say it, I see right through that smile" He can tell that the person's just faking a smile. "We're torn apart, watching you throw yourself away as if your life is worth nothing at all as if you cant see it happening. you're so addicted it consumes you, and it's killing you" From my experiences of self harm, thoughts of worthlessness is a part of it, and when they start they're in control and do it because they want to but after awhile it becomes more of an addiction and the urges get too strong to stop themselves. "Because I've kept it quiet for far too long I won't sit and watch you die" I imagined that he found out that the person self harmed but didn't mention it but now that it's gotten to suicide, he's now trying to help them. |
