| Youre entitled to your opinions but Phil, Josh, and (i think) Ryan are Christians so they wouldn't have lyrics that say no salvation from Jesus or god or whatever religion. Probably about global warming. This album is very political. | |

If you believe strongly enough in yourself, you will say these words and mean them. "Even through the shadows You are never alone" I agree that this may be a reference to "Ye though I walk trough the valley of the shadow of death" Which is apt in any setting because its so well known. The most well-known religious motifs are used for familiarity, not for fundamentalism. Read some classical literature by British agnostics and atheists. Its purely literary convention. "I will live by this throne Never surrender The throne has 2 meanings: God on a throne. And having high ideals going back to the "city upon a hill" phrase. Those who loook upon the speaker of the song will have to look up to him. "You and I are one" If you love someone deeply (and maybe right after amazing sex) you would say that phrase. Its common and has become cliche in romance movies and Twilight. Seriously, there are no KSE songs that are pushing christian views on anyone. They use what they know in their lyrics. Simple. Im not Christian, or religious at all but I can appreciate religious metaphors and allusions. KSE's song lyrics are meant to have a meaning for everyone, Judeo-Christian or not. Its cool if you see God in it, its cool if you just think its a badass song. whatever. Just stop hating each other. |
