I always had a darker take on Neruda's poem, in addition to the silent language between the couple, I read into it the almost unconscious act of imagining your loved one dead for a brief period of time. I don't mean to be grim, but loving someone is also acknowledging the mortality of the relationship or the people involved. |

there is a "call me loca" in there by the "cinco, cuatro" part.
I never got the Brazilian/Portuguese connotations of the song part mainly because the accent is not there. |

Besides the fact that pretty much any song would sound good while high, I was listening to Kala hoping I would find it...very interesting while high. mainly because it speaks to my developing world sensibility i guess, who knows |
