This song makes me cry every time I listen to it. I was talking to a guy a few years ago made me listen to this song this weekend. The reason why we have never worked is because I've been so afraid of him leaving me and hurting me. He has told me numerous times that he loves me, but I never believed him...This song was a nice smack in the face. I think it's about about a guy who was in love with a girl, that wouldn't commit to him. She didn't die, she just left. The being above the ground parts just reference to her being on a plane. Nothing more than that. I believe he's even said in interviews that she didn't die right? |

This song has 2 different meanings for me. One being, as a few people have also said, for my best friend. She and I have gone through a lot together, especially recently, and i played this for her to show her that no matter what i will be beside her, even though we may not always agree on what the other one does. and my 2nd meaning is about a guy that i have been really good friends with for the last 2 years. we tried dating, but it didn't work because we go to school 9 hours away from each other, but nothing as changed between us. when we are together, anyone can see our spark is still there. me & him would honestly do anything for each other. neither time or distance has been able to take that away from us...and hopefully one day we will be able to give our relationship a true chance. |
