I'm the biggest MJ fan. You name it I've bought it, recorded it, or downloaded it. I'm a virtual MJ Encylopedia. That being said I got to say I was dissapointed on this one. Love the track, can't stop listening but dissapointed. Firstly, there is confusion out there as to who's track this is and who the featuring artist is. From what I've read this is an MJ track with Akon featuring. Yet MJ - the King of Pop - really took the back foot on this track and let Akon take control and ride it all the way to home base. While Akon and MJ's voice blend beautifuly together Akon was overly dominant, duets parts are 80/20 Akon/MJ. While I never expect a lot of depth from MJ's lyrics I'd like to hear something a little more topical, personal or unique a la D.S., Tabloid Junkie, SOoML, Smile (cover). Instead he churned out another souless cliche ballad. Think Cry & One More Time. The music: Too simple, not much effort there. Listen to Billie Jeans track layering or Akon's Right Now Now Now.... that's awesome. Head out of the clouds and back to earth dude. Still waiting for to MJs next killer, ground-breaking track. |
