About when in the Silmarillion Morgoth summoned the aid of the evil spirit Ungolianth who came as a giant spider to help him destroy the two elven trees of Vallinor. Feanor had trapped the light of the trees into the gems the silmarils, which Morgoth stole. They escaped the elves into middle earth. Shelob is one of Ungolianths many offspring. Awesome and epic band. |

I dont think its about aids at all, but rather like others have said its about a relationship. Every line especially the chorus sais that its about a couples love that fell apart and all the while he was watching it hoping that it could be saved but knowing it couldnt until the other person changed for the better, and he couldnt help her because it was something she had to do and realize on her own. Now after so long hes given up and walks away. He no doubt loved her but they dragged it on for so long that he doesnt really feel anything anymore which is why he sais one day he may grieve, or he never will. And the whole viral infection part I really think its just a perfect metaphor for love and how it can turn sour even after years of being with someone. I love this song and bnl are musical geniuses in so many ways. Also at the end of the song you find out that he doesnt grieve for her because its just "I never will instead" of "or I never will." |
