It makes a lot of sense :)
He sounds like a flash guy who likes to flaunt his money but in reality has little real happiness in his life. Returning home reminds him of how much he has and how he now has all these material things. But it doesn't sound like he earned these things, having been given a watch by a magazine. He possibly sees people living 9-5 lives which reminds him that he has more than this but he doesn't feel fulfilled because he hasn't earned it. This depresses him and he realises his own life is quite hollow. |

I think it's about two people in love who have possibly run away from home to be together. This place was fun and like a fantasy land, but its appeal has run out. They are now missing their homes and want to return there and perhaps be grounded again. |

So few comments for this, which I think is a great song. Seems that the singer is noting how private he is, especially with his emotions compared with someone who willingly lets them flow out for all to see. |

"Because if it's not love, then it's the bomb
That will bring us together"
I think as well as having personal reasons this can refer to the futility of creating peace. People campaign against wars and wish for love, peace and harmony but it's wars or some type of threat that tends to make people more united. |

I've heard Morrissey talk in interviews from the early Smiths days about how he felt intellectually superior to his peers in school, but when they left he was with talent but without a job while they were having success. In this he's then asking whether those people are actually happy with their lives and the jobs they have. He never wanted a job but he maybe wants success, so is trying to attach himself to someone who has had some. By the end he realises that they might not be all that happy with their success and he'd rather just continue to be dragged around rather than drove around. |
