As shallow and overrated as Kent may be, it's still a descent song... Kris doing a cover of it doesnt really reflect his views or opinions on anything and so i dont see how covering this was a low move of Kris. Who gives a shit who the original band is, what theyre like in person, or why they're in the music business. Its just a nice song and Kris wanted to give his interpretation of it. Even if lets say Kent did write this song just to cash in and for nothing else, and all the emotion behind it is just for show...Maybe the words and music mean more to Kris than Kent, which is all the more reason to cover it and give his interpretation of it. People take the whole "punk rock cred" thing way to seriously. Its stupid. |

I spent like a half hour trying to figure out the bridge and the second line of the second verse cause i had ideas but they didnt sound right. and theeeen I submitted it but you beat me to it man. to be honest i really think the bridge sounds more like "today i woke up and these leaves had all weathered, faded, and fell to the ground like our tired hearts" makes a bit more sense too. and as for the second line, second verse, i also thought it was something along the lines of "since the last look in our eyes". but after like 70 repeated listens I suddenly heard "since i last took it alright" yea i could be wrong. just thought id give my two cents. |
