The lyrics really sound like it's a song about someone whose so narcissistic that he/she considers him/herself to be a God. The lines "you will be judged/ you will be found wanting/ and we'll be there to see you fall" is how the band feels about narcissistic, egotistical people. "Wants the penance, not enough/ wants the strength, not enough"... Some people just want more than what they deserve... The song sends shivers down my spine... June 30th is too long of a damn wait (and it's the 3rd of June...)! |

SOADwannabe, "From dust you were born, and the ashes you return" can be interpreted as "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" pretty easily. I like to think of it as you are born as dust, get stronger and burn (since fire is the strongest force on earth) and die, leaving your imprints, or ash, on others. |
