Meshuggah – Stengah Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is about addiction to heroin. The lyrics all make sense in that context.

Lacerating pains of degeneration speed through your trembling mind
Still, in machine-like strife you gain another mile
The temporary elusive goal. To reach the solace to feed once more
upon the synthetic reaper of loss. No matter the outcome the cost
----The first line describes the feeling of the drug itself, while the rest describes the endless cycle of reaching that elusive high.

Cold and stinging needs tearing throught the halls
of your defiled. fleshmade temple with it's closing walls
still you claim the worshippers pose and you bow. You kneel
----One word: withdrawal

Control: Once superior now a docile pet at chaos feet
Pulling the leash as it trails the scent to where all the hurt recedes
Your past a blurry patch in mind. Your future once: now thin dreams filed
Towards the lights of need you strive--to drink into your vein the shine.
----The addict is a slave to the drug. "Shine" is a nickname for heroin.

Beaten to the unforgiving ground. lashed into submission--
by the inner starving demon. By it's unrelenting hand
Still you claim the worshippers pose and you bow. You kneel to the syringe
----Once again, withdrawal

Answering only to the authorities of sedation. Their calls the only ones heeded
A worn out soldier touched by their contagion. A battered drone at their feet
You're the only one betrayed. An outcast set afire by your inner war
Your burning self so far astray. A combustion fanned from within your core.
----Describes how a long period of addiction demoralizes and breaks down one's spirit and fuels anger at onself.

Meshuggah – The Exquisite Machinery Of Torture Lyrics 16 years ago
I see this song as describing the constant mental torture that people with depression, schizophrenia or similar illnesses subconsciously put themselves through. Eventually, the person regresses into what Haake calls "nothingness"...could be an exaggeration of the feeling of complete nothingness in one's soul. Alot of Meshuggah songs seem to be about people with mental illness. I guess that's where the name came from.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the "eyes dilated..." part refers to the effect strong light (such as that emitted by a fire) has on the pupils.

Meshuggah – Combustion Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is about an arsonist who sees his work as works of art symbolizing "the burning hatred of man". Every line makes perfect sense in that context.

No more ifs, no bias, no ambiguity
No wondering whether this is it
Clarity so brightly shining
The image so painfully absolute
----The absolute, brightly shining image of a burning building

No edges blurred on this awareness
No unknown weight to tip the knowledge scales
Eyes dilated to grasp it all
As every illusion of what we are fails
----Once again, describing the absolute, unwavering nature of his work

An unquestionable picture - determined, complete
Its crystalline lines untouched by doubt
So vivid, so deprived of hesitation
Shining in its evil splendor
----Describing his work as unquestionable, determined, complete, and untouched by doubt

The burning hatred of man
A million degrees on display
Human voracity delineated
The demons in us all by fumes portrayed
----Delineated means to portray as drawn or painted art. He sees his work as art. The "burning hatred of man" and the "million degrees" part refer to the massive amount of animosity he sees in people, and he sees his work as miroring that hatred. The rest is pretty clear.

Stare, see, take in, grasp
Comprehend, assimilate, behold your reflection
----Basically, he's saying "Look into your own burning soul in the image of this burning building"

Its framing - gold plated lies
The canvas - hurting souls caught and weaved
The artist - the human dream
Incinerated, devoured, deceived
----Describing the havoc caused by his actions (and possibly referring to the death of the narrator)
