i love this song even though my father was an alcoholic he was a really good father and i learned all those things from him i really learned to love myself as much as he did."You say I wanted you to be proud of me I always wanted that myself"- i think he is the only one who really showed that he is proud of me because he saw the real me even though i made mistakes.im more connected to my mom but this song connects me with him in a strange way-this is such a beautiful song. |

i think this song is about every women experience about her own sexuality in a world where women body is selling as a cheap meat i just wanted to quote something but all of the lyrics are about that billie represents all of those christian boys so superficial and just learned to have a housewife to be their wife to cook and clean "So you can make me cum that doesn't make you JESUS" means we need more than that in our lifes when she says "He said you're really an ugly girl But I like the way you play And I died"we all had that experience when we for the first time heard that something that we belived secretly we are good at someone sees -so we forgive them for calling us ugly cause we belive that-"But I thanked him" it means the lesson we all learned for life.i'm thankful for all those guys who called me ugly cause today i'm kind of person that is really THANKFULL for that "billies" words because im beautiful and my soul is beautiful. |

i really love tori amos and all of her songs but this is one of my favourites!all that you people said above it's true it's all about loving someone who is not into you as much as you are i love the verse"I held your hand at the fair and Even forgot what time it was ",us women keep those little moments inside even though we know deep inside that maybe sometimes we are just "the horizon you run to when she has left you" but we still hope that we are the ones who can change their love.im soory if this is just too feministic wiew but i really think of her lyrics in a feminist way.and sorry for my english:) |
