Sounds to me about the kind of repetitiveness of modern life. People are born and are young with hope and ambition to change the world but slowly start to find the world worse and turn to drugs to cope and lose all hope. They manage to get a job and work to get their weekly pay and find a partner and have children and the whole thing happens again. |

I think the trophy is maybe symbolic for a persons virginity. This could be a slightly far out way of looking at it but the lyrics seem to fit someone who lost their virginity whilst drunk or something. All their friends were willing to forgive the person that took advantage of them and the person who lost their 'trophy' felt they had been wronged and didn't think the mercy was deserved. In the end they maybe moved away and were able to pretend they still had their 'trophy' or their friends were willing to pretend or something. Anyway, the result was that they outwardly had their 'trophy' back but they knew that however hard they tried, it could no longer be truly there again. Maybe making a generalised statement about how cheaply people lose their virginity only to regret it later. |

Maybe it's a sort of nuclear disarmament song? Sort of saying that with all the mad people that have nuclear weapons (Kim Jong Il for starters) a nuclear war would end up taking place. Although I quite liked someones idea that he doesn't care about anyone and would destroy the world and laugh. And for all people wondering, scaremongering is putting out false information to create panic (sort of like the 45 minute dossier was scaremongering or if the Sun printed on the front page that a nuclear war has started) So when it says 'we're not scaremongering, this is really happening' it's just like saying 'we're not making this up, it's actually happening' |

| Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |

To be honest for all our arguing and debate about what the song means, I don't think anyone but Thom Yorke will ever know. My guess is about a dream where everything's perfect and waking up into the world again. Although I'll admit I'm probably way out. |

'Everyone into position Everyone into their place' Does it interest anyone else this line from the opening track of the album the Charm Offensive appears on the last track? I've no idea if it means anything or is just a coincidence. Interesting though. Beautiful song though. No idea what it means. But it's just amazing to listen too without thinking, just letting the music wash over you. |
