This song is the greatest song ever written. It saved me in so many ways. My best friends wrote out the lyrics and gave them to me after i tried to kill myself and was hospitalized for depression. She is an amazing person and i will forever love her, everytime i listen to this song i think of her and how much she and this song saved me. It means more to me than anyone will ever understand. Savage Garden are my favourite band EVER full stop. |

I think this song is about an internal struggle with a mental ilness, maybe derssion. I think Rob's talking about 'these diamonds' as in her tears and how he can't help her. 'And if she feels bad i doe too' and how 'he can't take these diamonds pouring down' because he can't stand to see her in pain, and crying and be unable to help. That's just my interpettion, from personal experiences. |

i think this song is about a secret or hurt that one person kept from someone so close to them and built up walls because they didn't know how to telll them of their pain. remember those walls i built (the secret) well baby they're tumbling down ( telling the secret) and they didnt even put up a fight they didnt even make a sound (the persons desperate need for their secter to be told) i found a way to let you in but i never really had a doubt( how the person stuck by them and supported them) standin in the light of your halo, i got my angel now ( the person has then become their guardian angel) it's like ive been awakening every rule i had you breakin its the risk that i'm taking i aint never gonna shut you out ( how telling them was the right thing to do and they are so glad they told them so the will never again shut them out) and so on for the rest of the song.. to me thats what i interpret the song as being about this song saved me, or more importnatly the person who for me i relate this song to saved me in every possible way and i am never going to shut them out. this is the most beautiful song i have heard in my life. |
