i agree with Nose dragon's analysis. here's my two cents: I'm not like them But I can pretend "Them" could be referring to other popular bands at the time, and the idea of changing your music to appeal to a broader audience and selling out. Or it could mean his fellow bandmates, and how he was more of an addict than any of them. Or It could even meen society in general, Kurt was extremely anti-social. The sun is gone But I have a light The day is done But I'm having fun The day is over, he's done playing shows and he's depressed. But he has a "light", or heroin which is the only thing that would make him feel better and make his stomach pains go away. I think I'm dumb or maybe just happy Think I'm just happy He thinks he is stupid while he's shooting up, knowing full well how dangerous herion is. But once he's high, he's to happy to care.
