| Michael Jackson – Human Nature Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel like he's talking about his love for the city (New York in particular, 'if this town is just an apple') and how it never sleeps. He loves to go out by night and experience the city and it's ''electric eyes'' (streetlights). But hey, that's just my view. I l-o-v-e this song! |

| Michael Jackson – Dirty Diana Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is about groupies, it's not about Diana Ross or Princess Diana. He said so himself :) | |
| Michael Jackson – 2000 Watts Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song doesn't sound like Michael at all!!! Is it really him? Anyway, love the beat :) | |

| Regina Spektor – Genius Next Door Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think it's exactly like the title says. It's about the genius next door. He probaby didn't speak to anyone in his neighbourhood. Everybody knew he lived there, but they just knew him as 'the genius next door'. They knew there lived this kid insanely smart. He probably never fit in. I guess he felt missunderstood, because he was too smart for everyone else. No one understood him. He was just on another level of intelligence. So what i guess basically happened is that he commited suicide in the lake, and everyone around him just went on with their lives. For them it was no big deal, they didn't know him anyway. For sure I don't know if I'm right, but for me the song has got a sad feeling all over it. I feel like it's clear something bad has happened, either if he drowned himself or someone else. |

| Regina Spektor – One More Time with Feeling Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
@ just old light: I think you're right. She might have had a certain situation in mind, but like a lot of her songs, it can relate to so many different ones. I've been thinking about it for a while now and I think it's hard to figure out what she ment. Although I do feel like the whole hospital thing is a metaphor for almost every situation possible. I feel like it's about proving yourself to some group of people who did not believe in you. They didn't think you'd made it. And eventually yo do, you're so proud and you go and see those people to show that you did it. But then they still look at you the same way they did before. You try so hard to fit in, and do everything you believe they expect you to do. But it is not enough, for them it is not enough. I feel like she is basically saying, stop trying who those people want you to be. And start being who you are, relax, and she will love the guy no matter what. 'Breating is just a rhythm'. He needs to holds on. |

| Regina Spektor – The Calculation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think she's talking about a dying relationship. Love is not about calculation and it is not about rules. This two people are going through a hard time, the love really is dead. But after all, it made them stronger. They're breathing again, letting each other in and they finally feel the heat and the sparks that were there when they fell in love. I guess a lot of people experience times like this during a relationship, when love becomes a calculation. And that's the point when you need to decide whether you should stay together or not. Or maybe I'm wrong, and is the couple in this song forcing each other to stay together. It's burning them up. All the fighting burns them up. Well after all I like my first view better :) | |
| Regina Spektor – Man of a Thousand Faces Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel like this song is about a man who tries to fit in, to find his place in this crazy world. He wants to do everything perfectly but he simply can't, and trying is exhausting him. He's lost. I absolutely love the song. |

| Tina Dico – Count to Ten Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Why am I the first one to comment? This song is absolutely beautiful. 'I'm gonna close my eyes And count to ten I'm gonna close my eyes And when I open them again Everything will make sense to me then' |

| Rilo Kiley – A Better Son/Daughter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
'I know I can't breathe And I hope someone will help me this time And your mother's still calling you insane and high' Isn't it: 'And i hope someone will save me this time'? |

| Regina Spektor – Just Like the Movies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I'n my opinion, this song is about the first time being in love, and you being just so young and naive. Probably thinking you'll stay together forever, but then he walks away and leaves you behind, broken. I'm totally in love with the last two sentences: 'Don't say goodbye like you're burying him Cause the world is round and he might return' |
|
| Regina Spektor – The Call Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I feel like this song is about two people deeply in love with each other, and then were seperated, because the guy will be heading out to the war. 'You'll come back when it's over' They will be together again, so there is no use in saying goodbye, because he's coming back when the war is over. But like 'inventingtaylor' said, this song can relate to so many different situations.. it's really hard to pick one. |
