To me these are two friends. Max is being the one to help Chris. Chris is playing the part of someone who has slipped into a deep depression, even resorting to drugs. Max is saying if he could make Chris come out out of the hole he is in he would, but Chris repeatedly pushes him away. We have all been in a situation like this when a friend needs help but refuses its one of the facts of life we have to deal with. |
