Bruce Springsteen – Brilliant Disguise Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song because I'm kinda of a similar situation right now.

The songs starts out with him falling for a girl that he believes is too good for him. As he gets her to begins to question whether she really likes him or is she just using him for something hence he was struggling to do everything right. As he wonders about how she really feels, he starts to lose feelings for her so now he has to put on a disguise.

"God have mercy on the man
Who doubts what he's sure of"

All along he's been sure that she doesn't love him but he's lost in her love so he doubts himself.

Bruce Springsteen – Dancing In The Dark Lyrics 16 years ago
In this song he's saying he lives in a boring town and he wants a better and exciting life. The only way he can do it is if he actually goes and looks for this new life. He needs the spark that is gonna make him go and start his new life. That is why he is asking a certain girl to help him. Towards the end of the song he starts talking about if you want to change your life then you have to forget about the bad stuff and move on.
"You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart" That says it all, if you want to move on and find someone or something better then the first thing you can do is forget about the negative and move on.

Paul McCartney – Jet Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't know about the dog but this is how I've always seen this song.

"Jet! I Can Almost Remember Their Funny Faces
That Time You Told Me That
You Were Going To Be Marrying Soon.
And Jet, I Thought The Only
Lonely Place Was On The Moon.
Jet! Jet! "

He remembers how shocked he was when a girl he loves told him that she is going to marry someone else soon. He thought that the moon was the loneliest place but now he feels really lonely knowing he lost her.

"Jet! Was Your Father As Bold As A Sergeant Major?
How Come He Told You That
You Were Hardly Old Enough Yet?
And Jet, I Thought The Major
Was A Lady Suffragette.
Jet! Jet!"

In this part he is say that he had asked to marry her before but according to her, her father told her she wasn't old enough. Thats why he says that he thought her father was for lady suffering. But now he knows that she just made it up as an excuse since she's marrying someone else.

"Ah, Matter, Want Jet To Always Love Me?
Ah, Matter, Want Jet To Always Love Me?
Ah, Matter, Much Later. "

He is breaking down and he still wants her to love him eventhough it has been much later.

"Jet! With The Wind In Your Hair Of A Thousand Laces.
Climb On The Back And We'll
Go For A Ride In The Sky.
And Jet, I Thought The Major
Was A Lady Suffragette.
Jet! Jet! "

He wants to give them another chance but he repeats that he thought her father was for lady suffering. In other words he's going back to the second part and saying that she lied to him and he knows she doesn't love him.
