| The National – All the Wine Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Personally, I've always seen it as one of those times where you're blissfully dancing the night away with not a care; you feel amazing and invincible. But you always feel slightly melancholic and self-loathing in the back of your mind... the fact you need the wine to keep this feeling | |

Woah, people stop bashing the poor kid. Whysoserious32 doesn't believe it's about God, so he doesn't. He didn't say he didn't believe in God anyway. It's his interpretation! I personally believe it's about God but I don't believe in God, just some higher power! Personally, I agree with a quote by Stephen F. Roberts, "I contend that we are both Atheists. I just believe in one fewer God than you do. When you understand all the other possible Gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." If you do believe in God, then it's cool! |

Yeah, I think I agree with buddha_the_god. I personally am really agnostic, believe in a higher power but I would never be part of religion... of choice, of course. The vast amount of religions out there, the vast amount of possible Gods out there, there's too many for my head! haha If you're religious, then I respect that. It takes a lot. My mother is very Christian and my dad is very atheist, I've had a taste of both worlds :) This is an alright song, anyway! |

| Paramore – Turn It Off Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think I'm gonna have to disagree :S I think this only has a snippet to do with religion... The bit where she loses a bit of faith and finds a demon (the selfishness) but it's mainly about her wanting to know what it'd be like to be a bit selfish really and have attention without the rest of the band trying to stop her... She's just a bit tempted but everytime it feels like it's getting better the rest of the band are disagreeable and then comes the "freefall" (when everything goes bad maybe?)... she realizes that actually she prefers to not be selfish and that they're better off not being big headed and fighting for attention ("perfection in my pride" and "nothing in the light"). It repeats itself over and over again, the rise and fall. "Turn it off" probably means when she realizes and stops the feeling, the demon, the selfishness. That's what I think anyway, but just try think it from that angle :) |

Despite everything being said, in my interpretation I really think that this is indeed about the children in human trafficking... and especially with dedication to Love146. Even Hayley says so on the Riot! tour. "I've been waiting for the sun" = waiting for some sort of hope, happiness etc. "I've seen worlds that don't belong" = Children and prostitution. "My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize" = Some of these children are far too young to even understand what prostitution is. "We are broken, what must we do to restore our innocence and all the promise we adored." = Pretty self explanatory.. Love146's website even describes these poor children as broken. What could they do to restore their innocence? "Give us life again" A history of Love146 video describes these children as looking as if their eyes have no life. "Lock the doors, 'cause I'd like to capture this voice. It came to me tonight, so everyone will have a choice" = The children have had hope and they don't want to let go of it. But the children are being given a real choice. "Under red lights, I'll show myself it wasn't forged." = Despite their situation "under red lights" (red light district reference?), they'll prove that this hope for a new life is real. But yeah, I think you get the idea... This is just my interpretation anyway, and I would love it if you agreed with me because there are so little songs out there that could raise awareness for human trafficking! And so many about God, love, break-ups and what have you! :) |

I have a feeling this may be my favourite song ever. Every line is tugging at my heartstrings. I don't really mind what it's about... It's just amazing. That's it. :) |

| Amy Winehouse – Love Is A Losing Game Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'm pretty sure the last bit is "Over futile odds, Laughed at by the Gods" not "Over a few tiles, and laughter by the docks" My favourite song ever. Complete and utter heartbreak really, in any shape or form. |

| The Hoosiers – Everything Goes Dark Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think it's about death. I love this song so much. I love the way he sings dark and the build up at the end... just listen to the drums in the background. I thought it might've been about a model dying or something... I have no idea, really haha "Hypnotised by mirrors You should look out your window" Really vain model, needs to think about the world rather than their looks? "Beneath cracked panes of ice A sky's on fire Drowned by the screams of decadence A call to arms" They could seem really cold and icy on the surface but they do have a burning personality or something similar and they are drowned by their decadence (self-indulgence and luxury etc) "Too busy working out to Work it out" Too busy working out (as in looking good) to work it out... it being life more important things. "It's creeping up on you It knows your name All that you left behind Will never be the same" Death is creeping and knows your name, and everything the model leaves behind when they die won't be the same... friends and family etc. "It's come for all that you hold dear She starts to cry And here's a song to break your heart You're looking in the dark" The model knows she's going to die... "But I can't see it's guiding light In the night we made mistakes" I'm pretty sure it's guiding light? But it's about her maybe regretting the choices she's made? "Would you leave yourself alone? If everything goes dark Would you lighten up your tone Once everything goes dark" Would you change your view on your life as/once you die? I have no idea, really. But that's what I got from it... So yeah, dunno! Tell me what you're thinking :) |

The music itself is amazing to listen to. The lyrics and his voice just make it 100000000000 times better :) |

| Frank Sinatra – The Girl From Ipanema Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love this song so much. | |

| Flyleaf – Sorrow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
But who said that atheists think that cause and effect doesn't exist? I think every person has their own interpretation to this song. And I personally like to think that it's about a girl who knows she is going to end up breaking up from a boy and so she savours the moments. And eventually she does leave one last kiss but she still has hope to be with him again. I see situations like this everyday. |

| Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Better Things Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Ahhh, no-one's commented on this yet?!?! I absolutely love this song to bits. Well, I love Kate Nash so when I heard she was doing this with Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly it just kinda blew my mind, really :) I'm not so sure what it's about though.. I've contemplated maybe about a girl who slept with a famous person but he doesn't want to do all this with her or something... then he doesn't text back and now they're both lonely because of some issues? OK, I have no idea, really haha |
