I do understand everything that you're saying and respect your dislike for the song, but I think 'immaturity' was a positive factor of the lyrics. Love is really a simple, happy, and at times cheesy thing, and that is what that line you quoted was portraying. I personally really like this song, but maybe that's only because I've never heard it on the radio, and when a song is overplayed it does make it annoying to listen to ever again. xD |

| I see where you're coming from. ^_^ I like that take on it. | |

| Agreed. The shooter is just as much of a victim as those people "at the wrong place at the wrong time". | |

"locked in his bedroom he saw the world a web of answers and cumshot girls" The sad state of American youth. Instead of searching for the answers ourselves, letting our imaginations run free, we go to sites like Wikipedia. (or even sites such as this, to hear other peoples interpritations and adopt them as our own). Our judgement of what is beautiful is warped by porn stars - sexual exploition, instead of seeing sex and the female body as amazing, beautiful, and romantic. Without a sense of imagination or beauty, we are shells of humans. This is the sad state that more and more young people are falling into. "don't bother blaming his games and guns he's only playing and boys just want to have fun" A reference to the ongoing debate on whether or not video games contribute to teenagers being driven towards violence to solve their problems. I don't think it's clear if Amanda is being serious or sarcastic when she says "Don't bother blaming..." She doesn't make it quite clear if she believes simulated violence leads to real violence or not. Perhaps this is meant to mean that it can lead to violence if taken to the extreme, but you cannot look at 'normal' boys when dealing with these cases of school massecres. "he picked a soundtrack and packed his bag he hung his walkman around his neck" I can definetely see the connection that CircusSoul pointed out with this line. Although it could be a follow up to the previous verse, as there is a debate that heavy metal ("angry") music contributes to violent behavior. "it's so simple the way they fall no cry, no whimper no sound at all" It's not that there is no panic when the kids are being murdered. The shooter is completely insensitive to their pain (possibly because of the accursed video games he played so much of?) This massecre could even be his last reach out to the human emotions he has forgotten, but to no avail. |

| Amanda Palmer – Runs in the Family Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| When I heard this song, I thought of prostitution, not an actual illness inherited through genetics. To me, it seems as if the narrator is almost jealous of all her friends with these crazy diseases. She would rather have something that could be given temporary relief with pills than have to go through this every day. | |
| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Like alot of people have already said, I think it's about a gay guy who has a crush on a jock. However, I think that the jock had intrest in the other male for at least a short time - otherwise, he wouldn't feel so hurt in seeing him in a car with a girl. That would be predictable if the gay guy didn't know the jock's secret. However, for the sake of his reputation, the jock stops associating with they gay guy, and even openly makes fun of him (hey shut up, hey shut up) so none of his 'friends' will suspect anyting. The gay guy can't stop remembering all the good times they had though, and his love turns to obsession, then to stalking. The meaning behind the song is probably how people will deny their own feelings for the sake of a good reputation among their peers, and the disaterous affects on the people who love them. |

| The Dresden Dolls – 672 Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think 672 is an apartment number. "Someday they'll find out about you too" probably means someone who lived alone - and died - alone after all their loved ones passed on. They'll 'find out' because no one will know of that person's exsistance until they see his or her corpse in their apartment. Amanda really doesn't give us enough information to go on, but that makes it all the more interesting and myserious, in my opinion. Or it could be nothing. |
