This seems to be about anxiety+depression and/or drug withdrawals. I absolutely love Lou Reed's singing in this song, you can feel the desperation/anxiety in his voice, and it fits the lyrics perfectly. |

This seems to be a song from the perspective of a drug addict, probably heroin. "Said no way But knew id try someday" referring to a hardcore drug. "It still wont wash away And i cant take you with me" heroin addicts are often addicts for life and ignore their friends/family "I got a seive inside me" A sieve is the filter thing used in syringes "A pit inside me I got a nowhere point of view" heroin addicts often have no motivation or ambition, content to be "nowhere" "It makes me wanna take another piece" Pretty self-explanatory. |
