And I think the lyrics point more to him being put in prison. I think he's an undercover FBI agent who gets put into this situation where he has to go to a Florida prison. "Child sacrifice," "Satan brands and home-made tattoos," "You can't believe the things I've seen," and "Cinder block temple" all point in that direction. I think he's saying that by being put in jail for the FBI, the cellmates are his instant friends and he fades into them. He becomes a criminal by participating in prison life and maybe "And I fade" is something in reference to how a lot of deep under cover missions get forgotten and permanently become the character they took on in the mission. |
