I think 'letting it linger' could be taken in many different ways, but the word linger itself means 'to wait around longer than needed'. My thoughts are that even though he knows that she knows he's cheated on her, he still waits around and is begging for her forgiveness, aka: lingering. This is heartbreaking for her, because now she's troubled and confused as to what she wants to do with their current status. Also, linger can mean 'to remain alive; continue or persist, although gradually dying, ceasing, disappearing'. He is THERE, but he is also decaying before her eyes because he's slowly vanishing from her life. Overall, it's a heartbreaking but beautiful message. :( |

This song is beautiful and sad. It's describing the aftermath feelings most girls have when a guy cheats on them, and how they still feel so loyal to them even though they know it's foolish but they truly love them. It's a terribly romantic truth of human nature, and this song hits all the right marks in making the song have that overall flow and mood. |

This song is so deep and so good. It's the kind of song you never get tired of. When I hear this song, I truly think of that first love feeling a girl gets for the first time. I know I've felt like this before But now I'm feeling it even more What she has 'felt before' was strictly that infatuation you feel when meeting a new person, but what she's 'feeling even more' is something deeper that holds a bigger place in her heart = love And then I open up and see The person falling here is me A different way to be Clearly, this shows that this is her first time feeling love. And now I'll tell you openly You have my heart so don't hurt me These lyrics are big giveaways as to the 'first love' idea because she shows so much vulnerability asking him not to hurt her. ~ It's an amazing song! :) |

When I hear this song (which I LOVE by the way) what immediately comes to mind is when one is on the brink of innocence and loss of innocence. I specifically think about the loss of virginity. The track is soft and sensual, which adds to the idea. Please come, say how do, The things I'll give to you The 'things' she gives is her virginity. He just has to come say 'how do' which I believe implies he has to have her fall in love with him first. :) |
