Oh, wow, I did not know that. That sounds very probable actually. I still think (even though Matt makes a lot of water images in his lyrics) the line is "everything I love is out to see" not "sea" |

I think it might closer to latter and not any Bible reference. Salt is a symbol of purification in a lot of things. Anyway, I'd think it's about feeling bad for not trying harder to work out problems in a relationship and just running away. Lyrics mention different interests, crying and ignoring (watching tv instead), being mad about guessing what the other person is thinking etc. Slowly they drift apart (maybe even an affair is hinted in the last verse). So the person hurts the one they loved and feel guilt so much they should live in salt to be clean enough. |

It's kind of a pitty this song probably wouldn't fit on the High Violet album (though they still could have put it as a hidden bonus track), because it could give some meaning to the album title. I don't know what it's about, a version of heaven, or maybe just a better place we'll visit when let go. |

They are real...well sort off. The band is called Von Iva, but the songs were made for the film, and of course with Zooey. This is a good song, I think it's about sad love relationship where the girl is so in love with the guy, or just in despair, she let's him push her around. Other songs in the movie are more about revenge that might come after that relationship. I like the song 'Yes man' at the end of the movie the best. |
