Here's my interpretation: the person singing is confused about why the world is how it is, and he doesn't know why everyone expects him to be an average person. Some things he critiques about the world are: "Planes and trains, automobiles, Same thing as a bag of pills" He thinks that greed, material goods, and the search for wealth are just as bad as drugs "Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, Chevrolet not zenith skies" He thinks, once again, people are too much acting in self-interest and in search of wealth than they are trying to be good people. "Wear a smile, wear a tie, Lie and don't be camera shy" People try too much to cover up who they are and their emotions "Murder people over seas, For the need to feed your greed Nothing's free, a price was paid, With a rocket propelled grenade" Greed causes war Basically, this song is talking down towards greed, and its a great redneck rap song |
