| Third Eye Blind – Another Life Lyrics | 16 years ago |

the best part of the song is "time goes by and realize that i'm alright you thought nothing would be the same but life comes round again" it's about getting over something you spent so long trying to get over. a once positive person was completely brought down by a "heavy blow" aka getting dumped, and can't deal with it. in the chorus he realizes that he has the will to keep going and move on. |

| Third Eye Blind – Forget Myself Lyrics | 17 years ago |

A blatant song about Charlize Theron, for one. For non-famous people applied to their lives, it's about struggling not to lose yourself once you get into a relationship. You still have to maintain a sense of self and never do things only for another person. Don't lose your ground and remain firm in who you are and your beliefs. Very good song for someone that's whipped by a boyfriend/girlfriend. |

This song is just about people trying to be something they're not. I think the best line of this song is And you can buy yourself some implants But you can't buy a soul It's simply saying that looks aren't everything, and you can get implants and surgery to make yourself necessarily more "physically" attractive, but you can't make your personality more attractive and you can't buy a soul. That's basically it. |

| Third Eye Blind – Losing a Whole Year Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
this song is clearly about a year long relationship you had with someone that has gone to shit. This reminds me of a guy i was with my entire first year of college. the lyrics: Losing a whole year I remember you and me used to spend The whole goddamned day in bed Losing a whole year Hiding in your room we'd lay like dogs The phone would ring Like a joke that's left unsaid Losing a whole year we never would answer our phones and never wanted anyone to find out where we were...we would spend all our time together just talking and watching movies and listening to music. everytime i listen to this song it brings me back to those times. this part of the song basically is him reminiscing about the good parts of their relationship, how they used to love spening time just the two of them without any intereference from anyone else. and now that it's over, he doesn't realize all those good times he was having during the relationship, now he just sees what he's left with after he lost an entire year with this girl. Now you want to try a life of sin You want to be down with the down and in Always copping my truths I kind of get the feeling like I'm being used And now I realize that you never heard One goddamned word I ever said Losing a whole year the second verse is basically when she left him to go pursue other, bigger, but not necessarily better things. She took him for granted and he can't deal with that. He woudl dedicate so much time to her and she would lie to him (always copping my truths) and essentially use him just as someone to have. and here he was expressing his love for her and she "never heard one god damned word he ever said" Took your stuff and put it in the basement When I found out what the smile on your face meant I've seen you pop that check Craning your neck at the car wreck It always seems the juice used to flow In the car, in the kitchen you were good to go Now we're stuck with the tube A sink full of dishes and some aqua lube I remember you and me used to spend The whole goddamned day in bed Losing a whole year the third verse is during the breakup. The sexual activity isn't even there anymore...they have to watch tv and she doesn't want to have sex with him anymore. When she used to be crazy and they had a thriving sex life now they're stuck watching tv with a tube of lube they never use. And the whole time he's remembering all the times they layed in bed like they had all the time in the world. When you were yourself it tasted sweet But it sours into a routine deceit Well this drama is a bore And I don't want to play no more I remember you and me used to spend The whole goddamned day in bed Losing a whole year the final verse he realizes that he's better than that. And even though he misses her and that wonderful year they had, he deserves better. the last part "when you were yourself it tasted sweet" part it's just saying that he realizes how much this used-to-be awesome girl changed and she really isn't the person he fell in love with originally. Now all she brings is nonsense and drama, and he's sick and tired of it and realizes he doesn't want to play her game anymore. This song is the epitome of my relationship a few years back. Whenever I hear this song I always think of the awesome year I had with this guy and remember that nothing is worth being with someone shitty, no matter how much fun you USED to have with someone. |

| Third Eye Blind – Blinded (When I See You) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

this song is losing about someone you were completely crazy about, but they didn't necessarily treat you the way you deserved to be treated. i think the best example of that are these lines: Time it passes and it tells us what we're left with We become the things we do Me, I'm a fool, spent from defiance yeah you got me but I didn't give up on you stephan is saying that the two people have been through so much and this girl treated him so bad, he is "spent from defiance" which literally means he was fighting an opposing force, clearly someone who didn't care enough about him the way he cared about her. and he's saying that no matter what, no matter how much shit they've been though, he is still blinded and only sees are as something his world revolves around (like the earth revolves around the sun). He's saying that throughout all the shit he's dealt with he has never gave up on her. Hence the lyrics "still you know i'll try again cause i believe that we are lucky" he knows she is the one even though she is blatantly defying him in every way. also, the part So when I see you In spite of all that we've become I'm still blinded clearly proves they're now nothing, but he still cannot seem to ever completely move on or get over her. This song is perfect for anyone that really refuses to get over one certain person, and even though they can try and just be the "just an old friend coming over now to visit you and that's what i've become" they know it really never is over and that the feelings still persist even though they are "just friends" with someone they used to love. So i guess this song really is about trying to be friends with a former lover, and realizing that is completely impossible to do. |

I think this is one of 3eb's greatest since Blinded. He's singing about a relationship that he ended and now he regrets ending it. And he's saying how he thought it was the right thing to do at the time, but now he's "longing" for her, and wanting her to forgive him and give him "some sweet release" but she refuses. And at the chorus he's saying how they tried to much and so hard to make it work but in the end it just wasn't working for him. And now he has to convince himself to find another girl because he ruined it. However, in the same respect, I could see this song as a song about how he got dumped and is trying to figure out the reasoning behind it because they worked so hard to make it. I love the lyrics "i never loved blues til stevie ray vaughn i never felt you til you were gone" because it's too often you don't realize what you have until it's gone and really, i think that's the true meaning of this song. |

| Third Eye Blind – Never Let You Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's all about a person you had a solid relationship with, where all the little stupid things meant so much, and then everything starts to change. I think the "sneaky and smoked out" part is really applicable to so many people because a lot of times the reason relationships change (at least in my case) is because someone becomes too focused on drugs and loses sight of the true important things to them. Stephan is singing about the fact that even though this girl is sneaky and is going behind his back he's never going to let her go just because she's changed. Even after the relationship changed, he still wants to be friends with that person even though he knows it's almost impossible to do so. | |
