| Wye Oak – I Hope You Die Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I've always thought of this song about the end of a relationship. Her counterpart is so miserable/tormented/suffering, that all she wants is for them to be peaceful. Almost as if she realizes that death might be the best resolution for their situation. | |

This is my best guess...I'm not saying I'm right, but this is what I hear. Great song...glad I got to see them play it live. I wanna run away I wanna run away I wanna run away I wanna run away I wanna bring you too I wanna bring you too I wanna bring you too I wanna bring you too I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud He says it's something from work (?) He says it's something from work (?) He says it's something from work (?) He says it's something from work (?) See someone that you know (?) Underneath you standing there (?) See my surprise of death (?) I think you'll never know (?) I wanna run away I wanna bring you too I wanna run away I wanna bring you too I wanna run away I wanna bring you too I wanna run away I wanna bring you too I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud I wanna run in the mud You give me nothing to lose You give me nothing to lose You give me nothing to lose You give me nothing to lose We saved our lives forever We saved our lives together You say let's ride this wave for mercy's sake let's leave today let's ride this wave for mercy's sake let's leave today let's ride this wave for mercy's sake let's leave today let's ride this wave for mercy's sake let's leave today let's leave today |

| Another wonderful song on a great album. Everytime I hear this song it makes me think of Paul Simon...I think it's his voice | |

I'm pretty sure it's - "This one is for the children" I really think it's about global warming/climate change. Always thought it was - "Here I'm alive", but "Here I'm allowed" "Everything all of the time" seems to make more sense...sounds like alive to me though. |

It just kind of hit me today after reading the lyrics. I'm suprised no one has thought of this yet, but some of the lyrics que up some memories of watching Alice in Wonderland (though I haven't seen it in a long while). "Trap doors that open" "I spiral down" "I'm lost at sea Don't bother me I've lost my way I've lost my way" "You're living in a fantasy world" It may not be what he was thinking when he wrote it, but it seems to fit in my mind. |

| It seems to me he's singing about a car accident. I've always thought that the line "extras get on the set" was referring to police, fire, ambulance arriving after the accident. | |
