To be honest i dont care about the true meaning of the song. This is what it means to me. I had to go through chemotherapy and was in severe pain and anxiety. The nurses would come over and try to calm me and ask how i was feeling "can you show me where it hurts?" They would then infuse me with anti anxiety drugs and i would instantly feel it. After that I would be "comfortably numb." I also thought back to my childhood while all this was going on because I thought I was going to die. This song brings me to tears. |

Wow, This is exactly how i felt. I had to go through chemotherapy. The lyrics go hand in hand with the experience. I was in severe pain and anxiety until they infused me with this strong anti anxiety and anti nasea medicine while getting the chemo. I felt it instantly and after that I was "comfortably numb." This song brings me to tears. |
