I love this song--to me it's about overcoming whatever awful pain of the past, things that happened to you that were so bad they affect the person you become later in life. It's about healing yourself by overcoming the fear and negativity of it, consciously choosing to rise above it. Choosing love and forgiveness over hate and negativity. "Dark future ahead of me that's what they say, I'd be starving if I ate all the lies they fed" Some people are dealt a rough hand in life, but that doesn't mean you have to be a victim of that. YOU have the power to be more than a victim. Her words are so heartfelt and honest; she's empowering. |
