The Stones wouldn't write such an obviously (and grossly) sexual song without there being a less dirty meaning underneath. Is this song also about friendship? e.g., coke & sympathy is obviously a reference to cocaine and "comfort", but maybe the line is secretly referring to a time when Keith listened to Mick's complaining over a Coca-Cola. Also the "bleed on", in addition to obviously referring to period sex, apparently also refers to a time Keith played until his fingers bled. I guess he got some on Mick and they thought it would be hilarious to turn that into a song about doing the nasty during shark week. |

@[Mgfoars:16199] someone was stabbed in the dirty basement = butt sex. Who penetrated who? Who knows, haha. Those were some wild times, man. |

@[fugitiveinkblot:16198] Pretty sure "knifed me in my filthy dirty basement" means butt sex. Question is, is it the girl or the dude talking? Ilana Wexler would be so proud. |

This weird dude has posted the same thing under every MGMT song. They take a lot of psychedelics themselves, so I'm pretty sure they're sincere about how cool drugs are.
But I'll give jaybird2 this: I'm not generally a drug user, but the video for "Time to Pretend" totally makes me want to take a whole bunch of drugs. Giant crab exploding into dolphins?! Bring me to your doobie! |

Wow, I'm really feeling how layered their songs are. Interesting that they come across as such a party band. I think they deliberately put in at least the war meaning and some of the "you can't go home" meaning as well. It would make great intensity for them to be likening attempting to recapture an old idea of home to surviving a war. |
