To me it sorta sounds like they are rebelling against the whole 'gay is bad thing.' 'They keep us apart and break us down' would be like their manager (not Tom just an example) or someone telling them not to be seen in public, or even break it up all together because of what the public will think and 'hold me' would be them trying to reassure or comfort each other and 'our lips must always be sealed' is them saying they can never say anything about it.

Its a bit frikin obvious..it's Muse we're talking about!! its about Politicians just saying theyre helping us or whatever and theyre doing all these things like involving us in a pointless war which we now can't get out of 'coz we've made it worse and yet they know we're never going to win or yeah i agree 9/11 or you know just rebel against leaders pretty much

I think thius song is about abortion Coz it says "destroy the spineless" and "you can't come down to earth you're swelling up, you're unstoppable" and the name New Born... it just all fits in to me... but i could be wrong..
