Yes, this is a concept album. I'm getting sick of people saying it isn't. It was originally supposed to flow as well as Still Life and MAYH, but it didn't work as well as planned, however it is still a concept album. If you ignore "Isolation Years", then the concept is much more clear (they only put the song on the album because Mikael wanted to). Now the way that I interperet this song is that the character thinks he's the antichrist and believes that his mother is posessed by Satan, so to set the devil free he kills his mother to release the "Ghost of Perdition" (sort of like the Holy Ghost only with Satan). |

This song is basically about the character in the story isolating himself from the outside world and leaving everyone he once knew and loved for Satan. If you think differently and you refuse to acknowledge that Ghost Reveries is a concept album, then sorry, but you're wrong. |

I love the last part of the song when Ozzy sings to that awesomely heavy guitar riff. Regarding what it's about, I'd say it has to do with someone who feels betrayed, lied to, or stabbed in the back and is sick of it. |
